Mexico will join to the celebration of the Global Meetings Industry Day #GMID16

Given the impact and the great drawing power that had the celebration of the previously known as the North American Meetings Industry Day (NAMID), it was determined that for this 2016 the celebration got bigger and global; for that reason on April 14 under the new name of Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) meeting professionals in every corner of the world will join to this gala, including Mexico.

This world-class event, which is promoted by the international initiative “Meetings Mean Business” and the Convention Industry Council (CIC), has the main purpose to show the potential and economic and social relevance of the meetings industry.

Thus, several activities around the world will take place to promote and raise awareness among the meeting industry professionals, government, non-governmental bodies, and society to encourage the growth and consolidation of the sector as a trigger and catalyst for the local economies. The main theme of the GMID’s first official celebration will be “Global Industry, Local Impact”.

In Mexico and specifically in Mexico City the meeting professionals will celebrate round tables to discuss about the topics that concerns to the industry at Centro Banamex on GMID day. The Mexican Chapters of PCMA, MPI, GBTA, SITE, ICCA, as well as PCO Meetings, AMDEM, AMDEMAC, CANACINTRA, CAMEXA, the Mexican Tourism Board and Tourism Ministry will support this event.
