MUMEDI, a Spot for Events with a Taste of Design
A referral in the design exhibition in Mexico, the Mexican Design Museum is part of the list of places in the heart of Mexico City that stand out due to its surprising and dual interiors.
Inside the building which dates back to the 18th Century and was originally constructed as part of Hernan Cortes’ palace, the colonial pattern and mixture of avant-garde designs are joined to offer the visitor something more than just an exhibit hall.
With the works of art of various artists captured in clothes, jewelry, accessories, furniture, photographs, paintings and endless objects that reflect the best of the Mexican culture in designs, the MUMNEDI opens its doors to welcome anyone who wants to explore tendencies, enjoy its cafeteria’s dishes or hold an event in an atmosphere that is always filled with singular forms and colors.
Although any kind of event can be held behind its doors, the details of this place make it perfect for social events that are more of a relaxed and creative nature, such as: cocktails, alternative galleries, banquettes, conferences or launchings.
This place I divided into four sections that are made up of 2 large Halls and 2 halls that are a bit smaller. The Great Mexican Hall holds up to 250 people and the Great Mexican Hall with its adjoining space can hold up to 350 guests. The King’s Hall has a capacity for 100 people and the T Hall can welcome only 20 guests.
The museum has several additional services which are video, sound and projection equipment, top-notch technological screens, microphones and everything necessary to hold a banquette. Within its six exclusive rooms, each one decorated with specific designs, are ideal for a place to stay.
The MUMEDI shop has a great variety of design accessories and object which are mainly Mexican, and the restaurant-cafeteria offers Mexican and international cuisine with a full array of options to choose from.
Besides being surrounded by a particular gallery and being able to discover the fascinating world of design, the MUMEDI represents without a doubt a place like no other to hold original gatherings in the cradle of the highest expressions of art of Mexico City.
