Reforma Tower, a Giant in Mexico City

With a height of 246 meters, the Reforma Tower joins the group of skyscrapers of this metropoli, and is now the tallest building in Mexico City, superseding the Bancomer Tower that used to hold that spot with 234 meters high. The avant-garde design of the tower is complemented with the absolute style of an ancient gothic house, better known as Gargolló-Rivas Mercado house, a construction that, on its own, gives the idea of the essence of the sophisticated style that prevails in Reformas.
It is important to mention that in order to balance the Tower’s structure, several adaptations were made, such as a moving the old house 18 meters so that this construction from 1929 wasn’t in the way of the building’s expansion. The old house has its own basement which holds a variety of restaurants and a bar. Inside is a prestigious store with the latest technology.
Reforma Tower is close to the all-inclusive buildings which have living spaces, sports activities and for meetings. Under this plan, this building is a sample of modernity and sustainability in all its parts, its 27 elevators have safety measures in case of an earthquake and a sophisticated evacuation system with a refuge zone.
It is also certified under the LEED Platinum norm, provided due to its natural lighting sources. The rentable area is of 50,000 square feet within a complex that has all the necessary adaptations to save energy, a residual water treatment plant and a mechanism for the decrease of carbon dioxide emissions.
This magnificent architectural novelty is made up of 57 floors, some are office spaces, others are commercial areas, there are also amenities for its inhabitants and visitors such as an exclusive 4-story gym under the Executive Club concept, 9 basements that are used as an area called “Open Kitchen” which houses restaurants and a wide variety of gastronomic styles, a modern auditorium and meeting rooms and spaces for special events.
The tower was recently inaugurated and is considered one of the most futuristic skyscrapers in the whole city, Torre Reforma is ready to welcome an inflow of approximately 4,000 to 5,000 peoples among visitors and residents.
