ACTIVITIES IN AUGUST MEXICO CITY TOURISM TRUST

During the past few months, the Mexico City Tourism Trust stood out due to its participation in important meetings for the Tourism industry, as well as in activities destined to boost the projection of Mexico City (CDMX) not only as a place for business, but also as a place for pleasure.
CDMX was present in the 2016 Christmas Tasting Dinner
One of the CDMX most prominent premises is, no doubt, Centro Banamex, directed by Toni Gámez, which delighted during this month more than 280 guests, chosen from the bank’s client portfolio, with delicious food for the Annual Christmas Tasting Dinner.
Chef Gilles Roulet and the Food and Beverages Director, Anabelle Ramos, presented a select menu of avant-garde dishes as part of the proposal for clients for banquettes, gatherings and/or events for this upcoming Christmas season. With a total of 17 dishes made up by 4 course-menus, the dinner guests enjoyed an exquisite chicken roll in a zucchini leaf, smoked flank steak filled with nuts, chicken breast filled with salmon, among other delicacies.
Four decoration sets were added to the tasting proposal: Minimalist December, Golden Christmas, traditional Christmas and Contemporary Christmas.
Mexico City Tourism Trust received a Recognition in the XIX AMPROFEC National Congress
During the XIX AMPROFEC AC National Congress, CDMX made gala of its ability to host large events and invited the most prominent entrepreneurs involved in holding fairs, congresses and conventions in Mexico, all gathered for this important congress.
From August 24 to 26, they exchanged ideas in matters of fairs, congresses and conventions; under this concept, one of the most prominent contributions was made by the panel “Globalization in Business Tourism” with the participation of Kai Hattendorf, CEO of UFI – The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.
CDMX had a special dynamic for the attendees of the Congress with the CDMX mascot; the winner was Lorenzo Ruiz. And the great closing, which couldn’t have been better, was the focus on the acknowledgement given to the FMPT for its support to the 2016 AMPROFEC National Congress.
CDMX strengthens its position as business tourism destination during the ASAE 2016
In the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, one of the most important association events took place on August 13: ASAE, the Center for Association Leadership Annual Meeting & Exhibition. As every year, thought leaders gathered to exchange experiences, resources, strategies and best solutions regarding the environment related to associations.
Near the end of the event, which lasted three days, Dave Phillips’ participation stood out with his presentation “Survive and Thrive with a Challenging Leader”, while the anticipated Awards Recognition Breakfast took place in another hall.
Mexico City Tourism Trust present in the XXIII National Business Tourism and Advisory Congress
Another top event for the business tourism industry is the annual National Business Tourism and Advisory Congress organized by MPI Mexico that took place on August 3, 4 and 5 in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo.
This meeting gathers leaders of the industry in Mexico for event halls, hotels and suppliers, and organizers to encourage competitiveness in Mexican offers to the international market, and the Commission for the Business Tourism Industry, made up by 11 presidents of the industry associations in Mexico, took oath.
In this context, the FMPT took the opportunity to show the attractive points of the city by means of a dynamic with the attendees, where the winner would win a trip to have an unforgettable experience in this capital. It is important to mention that this activity was possible thanks to the help of the Hotel Marquis Reforma and the Hotel Krystal Grand.
CDMX takes an important role in the World Meetings Forum
The main actors in the MICE industry came together in the city of Monterrey to celebrate the fourth World Meetings Forum. During this forum, which lasted three days, the main events were conferences given by the best leaders, and the cornerstones were networking and business meetings which involved the participation of professionals and students who, in all events, obtained better ideas and tools to prepare events.
Among the activities lead by CDMX, the presentations that stood out were “The Four Commitments of a Winning Team” given by the ex-basketball player Mark Eaton and the dynamic of “Live in CDMX” that invited participants to take a picture with the CDMX commemorative column, which was later shared in Facebook. The picture with the most shares would be the winner of a GoPro camera that can be used to fully enjoy when visiting the city.
During the closing ceremony, Rafael Hernández, CEO for Latinamerica Meetings & Latinamerica Trade Shows, who is also one of the organizers of this event, said that CDMX will host the fifth edition of the World Meetings Forum in 2017. Armando López Cárdenas, General Director of the FMPT expressed his gratitude for the appointment of the capital as host for this event and highlighted the ongoing development that CDMX has had to host large events, considering that this city has been nominated as host for several international events through 2023.
Mexico City Tourism Trust strengthens liaisons with the new president of MPI Mexico
Julio César Castañeda was officially appointed president of the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Mexico chapter. During the ceremony that took place in the first week of July, the new president presented his work plan in which he highlighted the easy access to training and encouraging certifications, networking, educational breakfasts, and innovation as the cornerstone for upcoming events, and working in training new partners.
Special guests and strategic partners were invited, such as the FMPT who congratulated the new president and his renewed Managing Committee, and strengthened the commitment they have as allies to continue growing together in the business tourism industry.
